Lighting
Warm, natural light bathes timber and bodies. Hard shadows bring out the raw texture. The Sauna Project's authenticity with a polished look. Salty sunbeams and a bold, contrasty colour palette.

The strike of a match, the crackle of fire catching, timber creaking under bare feet, soft sand shifting, steam fogging the glass as time slows, wind rushing past with distant gulls, waves swelling and pulling back. Then the plunge. a splash, a sharp inhale, a heartbeat climbing… and finally, stillness, just breath just being.

This film embodies The Sauna Project’s soul — a mix of texture, feelings, and connection. Through the heat of the stones to a naturalistic release of toxins and blockages, we connect, re-centre and allow for stillness within our mind and body.
With a use of contrasting colour palettes, we highlight the hauora aspects of the experience. mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being.
